Moving Image Topography
Moving Image Topography is Elisabeth Brun´s long-term artistic-scientific research project exploring cinematic thinking as topography: that is, a thinking about structures of knowledge and experience, through the textures and configurations of the moving image. It develops from the doctoral project Essay Film as Topography (2020), which proposes a thinking model called Topographical Acts of Movement (TAM): a conceptual system differentiating the topographical thinking of the moving image artist-thinker. Many of Brun´s projects are connected to this theoretical epicentre.
A book based on the PhD-research is currently in press at Routledge.
Title: Place and the Moving Image - Essay Film as Topography.
Publication expected by the end of 2025.
